Labeled "up-and-coming" by Time Out NY, and a "dynamic duo" by Classics Today, Zentripetal made its debut in 2006. Longtime collaborators, violinist Lynn Bechtold and cellist Jennifer DeVore have been performing together since they were students at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Jazz Weekly recently called them "a nice mix of clever and creative." Pizzicato Journal called them "outstanding." Strings magazine labeled them "close to the edge" and "impressive." To date, the duo has performed in NYC at the American Museum of Natural History, Austrian Cultural Forum NYC, City Winery, Cornelia Street Cafe, Dixon Place, The Firehouse Space, Galapagos, Goethe Institut NYC, the JCC, the Museum of the City of New York, the National Opera Center, Le Poisson Rouge, Players Theatre, Poets House, the Roerich Museum, Rolling Orange, ShapeShifter Lab, Symphony Space / Bar Thalia, the Renee Weiler Concert Hall at Greenwich House, & the Yeshiva University Museum, as well as in Paris at the Cité Internationale des Arts and at l'Institut Finlandais. They've also performed on the Music With A View Festival, North River Music Series, & the Vox Novus Series. Their collaborations have been with artists such as multi-instrumentalist Milica Paranosic; pianist Dimitri Dover; violinist Mioi Takeda; vocalists Heidi Hart and Sharon Harms; the vocal/piano duo Two Sides Sounding (Eleanor Taylor and Mila Henry); maverick composers Gloria Coates, Alvin Lucier, and Morton Subotnick; and chef Kurt Gutenbrunner. Their first CD was released on September 30, 2014, on Composers Concordance Records, distributed by Naxos.
